Écriture automatique — Art Vase | Blue & Black

Blue marks wrap around a dark, rounded vase.

This Écriture automatique vase carries Benjamin Van Oost’s graphic language over a curved surface. The broad blue lines overlap and turn as they follow the body, making the composition shift with the viewer’s position. The dark ground gives the marks room to stand out, while the familiar vase form connects the work to the artist’s wider collection of objects.
